Keeping Your Skin Luminous: Your Guide to Skincare
When it comes to beauty, skincare should be high on the priority list. Skin is not only the body’s largest organ, it’s the most visible. There are skincare guidelines you can follow for every time of the day, night, week, and even month. Esteem Medical Spa not only offers a variety of skin treatments, they also offer a variety of skincare products for dry, combination, normal and oily skin types.
Rise and Rinse
There’s no time like the morning to start your daily skincare routine. Cell renewal turnover increases at night; therefore, begin each day with a mild cleansing of the face, neck and décolletage to rid your skin of the dead cells sitting on the surface.
Prepping the skin with a toner will help balance the PH in the skin and prepare it for the benefits of treatment products such as a reparative stem cell serum, followed by a daily moisturizer, and topped off with a fabulous sunscreen. When choosing a sunscreen to suit your needs, make sure you stick to something over SPF30 with full spectrum coverage.
Cleanse Before You Snooze
End the day similar to how you started it! Wind down each night by removing all of your makeup, and cleanse a 2nd time to prepare you skin for treatment products. Remember, in order for your skin to breathe and repair itself during the night, you never want to sleep in a full face of makeup! Next, apply eye cream, a reparative serum and a nighttime moisturizer.
Investing in the correct skincare products is making an investment in your skins health. You wouldn’t guess at what type of oil or gas you should put in your car, so guessing at which skincare products are best for your skin can be a big waste of money. Not all skincare products are created equal.
Take the guess work out of your skincare product selections by letting the Esteem Teams highly trained Aesthetic Technicians use their expertise to help you choose the proper products for your skin type.
A Weekly Wash
Add washing your sheets, especially pillowcases, to your weekly routine. You can also apply an at-home face mask, and exfoliate your entire body to give your skin a boost. Think a mini spa day at home!
Some habits to keep up with every day to ensure a glowing complexion are drinking plenty of water, taking daily vitamins, get eight hours of sleep, and maintain an active lifestyle.
Another lesser-known, but important tip is to avoid hot showers which can cause your skin to dry out and cause damage to the keratin cells which are located on the outer layer of the skin.
Your Skin Mentor
You can benefit from a skincare consultation even if you are already maintaining an avid skincare routine. The Esteem Team will assess your skin in a consultation and recommend which treatments and products are best for your skin type.
