Are Injectables Right for You?

Deciding to get injectables for the first time can feel intimidating. Even if you’ve had a procedure using injectables before, choosing to try a new treatment can lead to a lot of questions. Like almost anything else in life, the best way to ease anxiety about an unknown experience is to learn as much about it as possible.

That’s why the Esteem team has compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions about injectables.

How do I know if I am a candidate for injectables?

Cosmetic treatments are medical procedures and are performed by professionals. Before you find yourself in the midst of an injectable treatment, you will have a thorough consultation with the very informative and experienced Dr. Glass. During your consultation, you’ll be able to explain your desires for the treatment. Dr. Glass will listen to your goals with treatment, and then advise the best option to achieve those goals.

How long do the treatments take?

Generally, Botox and Dysport treatments take no more than 15 minutes.  When injecting facial fillers like Juvederm and Restylane, treatment times may vary from 30 minutes to as much as an hour depending on how many areas are being injected.

What is the time frame between my consultation and chosen procedures?

New Botox and Dysport patients can have their consultation and treatment take place within the same appointment.

Facial filler patients are required to have a consultation prior to scheduling treatment. Once the consultation takes place we will find a mutually convenient time for your injections.

Do the results of injectables look natural?

When injectables are used appropriately the results look natural.  What is most desirable to a majority of patients is looking younger, more awake and refreshed, but still looking like themselves, not like someone else.  To achieve this goal you need to seek a very experienced injector who believes in these principals.

How long do the results of injectables last?

The amount of time that your results will last depends on the treatment you choose to undergo. While Botox results generally last for about 3-4 months before you need to return for another treatment, the results of Juvederm injectables can last for up to two years depending on the treatment area and filler breakdown rate.
