Platelet Rich Plasma Reno

PRP Injection Treatment

Improve Tone with Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet rich plasma is a completely natural way to improve tone and texture, add volume through inducing collagen production, and experience the affect your own growth factors have on your skin. They may be injected or topically applied. PRP can also speed up the wound healing process, and many patients elect to use this technique in combination with other procedures, such as fractional carbon dioxide laser resurfacing, or dermal needling. All PRP procedures are performed by Dr. Glass.

*Astonishing Results

  • When injected into the skin PRP causes the growth of new collagen which thickens the skin, improves acne scars, and reduces the depth of folds and wrinkles
  • This patient has type I diabetes, is insulin dependent, and because of problems with healing, was not a candidate for more aggressive procedures
  • The improvement in her crow’s feet, the wrinkles around her eyes, and acne scarring, was accomplished solely with the use of PRP
  • And, because the PRP is derived from her own blood, there was no risk of allergic reaction
  • *Results may vary from patient to patient

How Does Platelet Rich Plasma Work?

PRP is derived by taking a small amount of blood from the patient, placing it in a specialized blood tube, and centrifuging the tube at high RPMs. This causes a separation of the red blood cells from the plasma, which contains the platelets. The platelets are then activated which causes them to release their contents of growth factors and cytokines, which mediate the healing response. This is the magic of PRP. It “supercharges” the healing response.
